What is ADHD?
Imagine living in a fast-moving kaleidoscope,
where sounds, images, and thoughts are constantly shifting.
Feeling easily bored, yet helpless to
keep your mind on tasks you need to complete.
Distracted by unimportant
sights and sounds, your mind drives you from one thought
or activity to the next. Perhaps you are so wrapped up
in a collage of thoughts and images that you don't notice
when someone speaks to you.
For many people, this is what it's like
to have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder,
or ADHD. They may be unable to sit still,
plan ahead, finish tasks, or be fully aware of what's
going on around them.
To their family, classmates or coworkers,
they seem to exist in a whirlwind of disorganized or frenzied
activity. Unexpectedly - on some days and in
some situations - they seem fine, often leading others
to think the person with ADHD can actually control these
behaviors.
As a result, the disorder can affect the
person's relationships with others in addition to disrupting
their daily life, consuming energy, and diminishing
self-esteem.
ADHD, once called hyper kinesis or
minimal brain dysfunction, is one of the most common
mental disorders among children. It affects 3 to 5 percent
of all children and perhaps as many as 2 million
American children.
Two to three times more boys than
girls are affected. On the average, at least
one child in every classroom in the United States needs
help for the disorder. ADHD often continues into adolescence
and adulthood, and can cause a lifetime of frustrated
dreams and emotional pain.

What are the symptoms, diagnosis
and treatment?
ADHD is not like a broken arm, or strep
throat. Unlike these two disorders, ADHD does not have
clear physical signs that can be seen in an x-ray or
a lab test. ADHD can only be identified by looking for
certain characteristic behaviors, and these behaviors
vary from person to person. Scientists have not yet identified
a single cause behind all the different patterns of behavior--and
they may never find just one. Rather, someday scientists
may find that ADHD is actually an umbrella term for several
slightly different disorders.
At present, ADHD is a diagnosis applied
to children and adults who consistently display certain
characteristic behaviors over a period of time. The most
common behaviors fall into three categories: inattention,
hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Inattention. People who are inattentive
have a hard time keeping their mind on any one thing
and may get bored with a task after only a few minutes.
They may give effortless, automatic attention to activities
and things they enjoy. But focusing deliberate, conscious
attention to organizing and completing a task or learning
something new is difficult.
Hyperactivity. People who are
hyperactive always seem to be in motion. They can't sit
still. They may dash around or talk incessantly. Sitting
still through a lesson can be an impossible task. Hyperactive
children squirm in their seat or roam around the room.
Or they might wiggle their feet, touch everything, or
noisily tap their pencil. Hyperactive teens and adults
may feel intensely restless. They may be fidgety or they
may try to do several things at once, bouncing around
from one activity to the next.
Impulsivity. People who are overly
impulsive seem unable to curb their immediate reactions
or think before they act. As a result, hey may blurt
out inappropriate comments. Or, they may run into the
street without looking. Their impulsivity may make it
hard for them to wait for things they want or to take
their turn in games. They may grab a toy from another
child or hit when they're upset.
The Natural Approach
Rather than prescribing strong and sometimes
addictive psychiatric drugs, (Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall)
naturopathic approaches to the treatment of ADHD and
ADD take a more holistic look at the
individual and take into account diet, lifestyle, personality
type, surroundings and emotional factors.
Natural remedies are used to gently
and effectively treat the symptoms, while
at the same time helping the person to heal and to
reach a state of balance and health.
|
|
|
he natural approach is less harmful and
more thorough and has a greater chance of
curing the problem altogether, instead of keeping
the individual on psychiatric drugs for many years.
This is very important, especially in the
case of children, because of the frequent side
effects of prescription drugs and the risk of
addiction. (side
effects of drugs like Ritalin, Concerta, Adderall)

|
What is Focus?

safe, non-addictive alternative treatment

of prescription psychiatric drugs.

How has Focus helped others?
Focus ADHD has been used to
help control, calm and soothe thousands of ADHD sufferers.
Here is what some of them have to say:
"Hi guys, today is probably one of the
happiest days of my life. My 8 year old son is on Focus and BrightSpark.
Doctors have said he has ADD, frankly I always suspected Aspergers.
Anyway he has taken the above 2 for the past 5 days. His teacher
left a message on my job and home phone until he finally got
me on my cell phone during his lunch break, I was so scared
that my child was ill or fell or something else negative. Needless
to say he was calling to tell my he was "blown away in
the difference" with my child. He was "attentive,
involved, sharing, and focused" during
class. He then asked my what was going on? I then mentioned
your company and the items my son was taking. When I came home,
I played the teachers message over and over again. I was so
happy I actually started to cry. I have to admit I was not
a whole believer in non conventional medicine, but that has
certainly changed. Thank you and God Bless You." - Suzan
C., NY
"I just wanted to write and say that
I am loving the results of the BrightSpark and Focus.
My son is nine and ADHD and dyslexic. He was on Adderall and
had mood swings and crying spells all the time. I thought that
was part of his ADHD, but realized it was a side effect of
Adderall. I decided to try your products after researching
anything that could help his focus and learn without drugs.
The testimonials are what made me want to try it. He has been
on your products for two weeks, and the mood swings have almost
gone away. Of course he is not a "perfect" child,
but now, he is a much "happier" child. His teachers
say that he is focusing as well as with the Adderral, but he
has none of the side effects of drugs. I don't know if he is
getting the full effect yet, but in two weeks the results are
great! I am hoping for even better results as he continues
the therapy. Thank you for helping our kids!!" Gina,
Orlando, FL
"Our son's 3rd grade teacher had told
us she was concerned about our son being very active in class,
saying the answer out loud, not wanting to sit still, she suggested
he may have ADHD, I took him to our Dr. she prescribed Concerta,
KIDDIE COCAINE. We would not fill the script! I found your
website, ordered FOCUS and BRIGHTSPARK,
and in less then 2 weeks, we have a new son, the teacher is
AMAZED & so are we!! He does his homework without fighting,
he waits his turn in class and he is getting better grades!!
Thank-you so much!!" Sincerely, The Deel Family
"I started my 7-year old daughter out
on Focus after seeing that her behavior in school was not
changing over the last couple of years. She would speak out
in class, interrupt fellow students and the teachers. She
would even push other students in school. After a few days
on Focus I noticed a big difference. There
was less speaking out, interrupting and pushing. I then put
her on BrightSpark as well. I have no reports of any problems
at school anymore! Her attention span is wonderful now, where
prior to the remedies, she couldn't even watch an entire
movie, now she does! Thank you so very much for your wonderful
products. I thank God that I didn't have to take her to a
doctor and have her put on chemcial compounds that might
have done more harm then good. You folks are a true Godsend!" - Patricia,
NJ
